Where Studio K Began W h e r e S t u d i o K B e g a n

Studio K Salon was built from decades of passion, artistry, and a shared belief that beauty is deeply connected to confidence. What began as years behind the chair evolved into a vision for something more — a salon space designed to elevate both the stylist and guest experience.

For co-owner Kendra Cruz, hairstyling became a creative calling early in her career. After training under celebrity stylist Chris McMillan during the iconic “Friends” era and witnessing the creation of the legendary “Rachel” haircut firsthand, she developed a deep appreciation for movement, layering, and transformative hair design. Over the last 20+ years, Kendra became known for her signature layered cuts, dimensional blonding, and natural gray-blending transformations that help guests feel effortlessly confident.

At the same time, co-owner Sulma Payne was building her own respected legacy within the beauty industry. With more than 30 years of experience, Sulma became known for her creativity, warm approach, and ability to create beautiful, confidence-boosting results while fostering meaningful relationships with her clients.

Together, their combined experience, artistry, and passion became the foundation of Studio K Salon.

Studio K Salon was created to redefine the traditional salon experience through a more elevated, collaborative, and intentional approach to beauty. Designed as a modern salon collective, the space was built to give both stylists and guests a more personalized and inspiring environment.

Unlike conventional salons, Studio K features an open-concept layout with individualized workspaces that allow every stylist to have their own dedicated cabinetry, wash area, tools, and creative space while still contributing to a collaborative atmosphere. The concept was designed to blend independence with connection — creating an environment where artistry, comfort, and professionalism coexist seamlessly.

Every detail inside Studio K reflects the salon’s commitment to luxury, creativity, and experience. From the atmosphere to the guest journey, the goal has always been to create a space where clients feel welcomed, relaxed, confident, and cared for from the moment they walk through the door.
